Where: Fairlawn Avenue United Church, 28
Fairlawn Avenue at Yonge (map)
Why:
- Come for the bargains!
- Come to help a good cause!
- Come for the fun!
- Come for the fellowship!
How much? Last year,
due to the exceptionally hard work of at least 79 volunteers
(nearly 20 of whom are teenagers and others from the larger
community) we have raised just over $8000.00 for our church.
Many of our volunteers wear
"more than one hat" during the Sale period participating in
sorting, then displaying books at the set up and helping to
repack and move the unsold books. Thanks to all concerned.

Who: Everyone can come ~ Everyone can
donate ~ Anyone can volunteer to help out! Book Sorters and Pricers
are needed in the weeks leading up to the book sale. No experience
needed! We will meet every Wednesday in the new year between 7:00 & 9:00 pm in the down
stairs kitchen (with the exception of Ash Wednesday). If you can help,
please contact the Book Sale Co-ordinator, Jan Schlee, at
fairlawnbooksale@gmail.com
How:
Drop off your donations at the cart in the lobby near the
welcome desk, or in the room behind the kitchen on Sundays. If
you are unable to bring your books to the church, please contact Bob
Stobie at
fairlawnbooksale@gmail.com for pick-up when we are ready to accept donations.
What's next? After the book sale, any leftover books will find new
homes through the Yonge Street Mission and the St. Vincent de Paul
Society.
