COMMUNITY LIFE Deadlines 2010
Thanks to
everyone who helped to publish our church newspaper in 2009! Your
contributions are greatly appreciated. This year in the Summer issue we
will celebrate our 20th anniversary. Let me know if you have
any ideas for this special issue.
We published
four issues, as usual, in 2009 and delivered 5,200 copies each time to
homes in our neighbourhood (reserving 300 at the church). The annual
publishing and delivery costs of $4,300 were mostly offset by
advertising revenue, but we always welcome new advertisers.
Articles,
columns, ads for church events and photographs should be emailed to me
at
kmagladry@sympatico.ca.
Written submissions should be sent as an attachment in Microsoft Word.
Submissions may come from the church or the community. Ideas for future
issues are welcome.
REMEMBER
NOT TO DOUBLE SPACE OR INDENT PARAGRAPHS. DO NOT USE TABS. All
these things create extra work for the Production Manager and we want to
keep her happy.
Committee
chairs should carefully consider which issues are appropriate for
advertising upcoming events (eg. The deadline for Easter events would be
Feb. 6; for Christmas would be Oct. 31). Please do not assume that the
Editor knows everything that is going on at the church and will put it
in the paper.

Here are the
dates for submitting material to our newspaper in 2010. Other than a
reminder in the Sunday bulletin the week before, this is your only
reminder. Please be on time! Note the Fall deadline is Labour
Day weekend. Please submit in June if you will be away in the summer –
thanks.
