Confirmation classes at Fairlawn Avenue United Church are
held every other year.
- The next class will be scheduled for the winter/spring of 2012
- Confirmation classes are for youth in Grade 8 and up
who feel ready to take this step in your Faith Journey
- Each youth is paired with a member of the congregation as their mentor
through this interesting process
Jesus 24/7 for Youth: A Confirmation Course in Christian
Faith for the Questing Youth
- Beginning March 2012
- Meetings times (subject to change)
- Wednesdays after school from 4:00-5:30 p.m. in the Kimmel Room
- Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:15 a.m. in the Library at the church
- Confirmation Service in May 2012.

Confirmation 2010
On Sunday, May 16, ten of our teenagers were confirmed. The confirmands had been
asked to prepare a short statement of faith, which they read to the congregation
... but three of the boys, Ben Blackford, Ben Christiani, and Bruce Kecskes,
presented theirs in a different way ... complete with guitars! Here are the
lyrics to Confirmation 2010.
Ben is a lot of fun and Bruce is opinionated,
Maddy is positive, and Mark is creative.
Ainsley’s brave, Teagan’s sweet, and A.J. is daring,
Then there is Chris, you know he’s always caring.
Finally Caroline, she likes to laugh a lot…
Well I guess there’s me too, but, you know, I’m just hot.
We’re all different living in our own ways,
But when we get together for 11 days,
It’s gonna’ be an adventure, another lesson learned,
A place in God’s world, that’s what we’ve earned.
You know that every day, there is a life lesson
And learning them with Stephen, that is a blessin’.
Narrow mindedness, any kind of hate,
Those are the things we strive to eliminate
When we get together, Confirmation 2010,
Ten boys and girls, grades 8 to 10.
We learned a lot from Stephen and confirmation,
Like learning how to handle & understand confrontation,
We learned about life, and the way to live it right,
How to follow the church, how to live without a fight,
We met cool people, we had a lot of fun,
But you know it’s almost over ‘cause this song is almost done.
