What to expect at this unusual fundraiser
The
folks at Fairlawn, led by
John Kimmel and our famous chef, Ganesh, are delighted to invite you to
this special evening of the Fairlawn Grill (formerly "Men's Dinner"). It doesn't happen often, not even annually, but
all who have participated look forward to its return! The volunteers
have fun in advance preparing the
menu, attending training, learning the art of table-settings, how to wait on tables, cooking and pampering the
guests. All for the good cause of fundraising for Fairlawn's favourite
charities.
On the magical evening, we start off by leaving our cars
for valet
parking in front of Fairlawn. We are piped in by Bob Stobie on the bagpipes, and
escorted by several very handsome tuxedoed gentlemen to the main lobby. Here the
youth of Fairlawn greet us and provide coat check services.
Next stop: hors d'oeuvres and entertainment at a
glamorous cocktail party in the Kimmel Room and Birtch Room. Dinner follows in the transformed Assembly Hall with beautifully set tables
for the guests. Fabulous musical entertainment is provided for the evening.
Don't worry that the volunteer staff will miss a good meal. They
party on, with their own duplicate dinner party, after the main event.
A hearty thank you from all the patrons to the dedicated, seasoned staff who
make the Fairlawn Grill such a wonderful evening.
