Fairlawn Green Action: Activism

Objective statement

Implement “the power of one” by providing a workshop to encourage LETTER WRITING by members of the Fairlawn community to politicians and government officials on topics related to global warming.  This will be supported by a local “letter writing campaign” resource group, and followed up with a lawn party celebration and expanded to community involvement.

Links to many online petitions and letter writing web sites were circulated to over 70 "green" members in the Fairlawn community to encourage them to add their voice to the message to politicians to stop global warming now.

3. A package of information has been prepared with web links, pamphlets and handouts on how to prepare for a campaign, how governments develop policies, and how to "say it right" to get your message across in a manner that will be successful for you. See the Green Resource Centre at the Fairlawn Avenue United Church Library.

4. Remember to be a vocal advocate with friends, relatives and neighbours to reduce energy consumption. Share the following
