  CRC Community Advocate

Fairlawn welcomes Rene Adams, the Community Advocate for the Christian Resource Centre (CRC). As part of the thriving and ever growing partnership between Fairlawn and CRC, Rene will help both organizations as we work to develop a more cohesive and inclusive approach to social justice issues.

Rene understands the issues of poverty and the immense challenges it brings. She is an effective advocate and will help us grow in our own understanding. While based at CRC, Rene will be visiting Fairlawn on an ongoing basis so please give her a warm welcome when you see her!

CBC interview with Jannie Mills on affordable housing, Dec. 31, 2010
Building Affordable Housing: Social Justice at work in the community

Jannie Mills was interviewed on CBC radio on Metro Morning and spoke eloquently about the need for poverty reduction and affordable housing. She discussed the church's involvement with CRC (the Toronto Christian Resource Centre in Regent Park) and 40 Oaks.

The merger of St. James Bond United Church with Fairlawn, and the subsequent sale of the property of St. James Bond, provided the $2.4 million used for four affordable housing projects in Toronto, including 40 Oaks.
