| Summer Barbeque organizer |
We are looking for someone to organize two summer evening barbeques similar to
those we’ve had in recent years. Many people enjoy these events but we can’t
have them unless we have someone to run them! If you can take this leadership
role, please contact Trish Jones. |
| Counting the Collection |
Adults and Teens
Volunteer for a day or for a month of Sundays to help us count the
collection on Sunday immediately after the church service (bring your coffee
from Coffee Hour!)

| Set up and serve at receptions |
We are often called upon to set up and serve at receptions
following funerals. If you can help, please contact the following people so that we have a ready list of volunteers to
call when help is required. It is about a 2 1/2 hour task.

Volunteers are needed to clear tables and wash dishes, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. - the 1st and

Individuals in the Contact group are assigned a phone list of approximately ten
people in the congregation to contact several times a year to inform them of
activities and issues at the church and seek input. This is an enjoyable
activity that you can do at home which helps the church greatly.

Learn a new skill, stretch your talents and have fun! Volunteer for the
Fairlawn Grill as car jockey, greeter, coat
check, waiter, cook, entertainment and so much more.

| Elizabeth Fry Christmas Baking |
Baking for the Elizabeth Fry Christmas events: We are looking for people to bake
nut-free Christmas goodies in the first week of December.

Book Sale Coordinator
January to April, the book sale coordinator oversees the various activities
that lead toward the actual sale at the end of April. This Fairlawn institution
is in its 51st year and raises $8,000–$10,000 annually!

Editor, Community Life
Our quarterly newspaper has been published in this format for more than 20
years, four times a year. The editor decides what goes into each issue,
including work from the regular columnists and guest articles, and writes some
of the items. Community Life is one way we maintain a presence to 5,500 homes in
our neighbourhood.

Chair, Children’s Education
This is a vital part of our church family—the education of our children.
Working in coordination with Dona Slater, our minister of Youth and Children’s
Education, the chair of CEworks with a team to ensure that our Sunday School is
meeting the needs of our kids and their families through curriculum and special
events like the September Pancake Breakfast and the Sunday School picnic.

Coordinator, Tuesday Lunch Crowd
The Tuesday Lunch Crowd meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays from noon to
3:00pm, September to June. The T.L.C. is open to adults of all ages in the
community, and is a caring, fun-loving group. Programs are varied - travelogues;
concerts; presentations on wellness, safety and health treatments; games,
exercise, sing songs, and fellowship. Special luncheons, with entertainment, are
held for Christmas and the season’s closing.
