THE LIFE AND WORK OF THE CHURCH

The Reverend Dr. Kathy Edmison

We are pleased to welcome the Rev. Dr. Kathy Edmison to Fairlawn Avenue as supply minister for the months of September and October. Kathy spent the summer as the provisional supervisor of clinical pastoral education for the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region in Saskatchewan, having recently completed four years as a chaplain at Sunnybrook. She has launched two new United Church congregations in Barrie and served seven years as minister at Eastside United Church in Regina. These callings gave her experience in preaching, pastoral work, and administration. We look forward to Kathy’s time with us.

A New Minister for Fairlawn!

We are delighted to announce the calling of the Reverend Christopher White, currently of Westminster United Church, Whitby, as our new minister of Worship, Pastoral Care, and Adult Faith Development.  Christopher is an experienced minister with an effective combination of diverse skills and has a long, deep track record of building up his congregations so that they grow in all aspects of church life. He brings a commitment to service in the community and in the greater church. He is the author of several books on church growth and a well-known speaker at Five Oaks, Queen’s School of Theology, Emmanuel College, and various Conference functions. We look forward to Christopher, his wife Wendy, and their daughters Elizabeth and Sarah joining us around the beginning of November.
