Ushers and Welcomers

The Worship Council would like to invite all those who have volunteered as Ushers/Welcomers to an evening of appreciation in their honour. On Tuesday, February 7th at 7:30 pm, Rev. Christopher White and council members will provide light refreshments, an update on recent changes to our services of worship and an open floor discussion for comments and input. We are very proud of the service to the congregation that these people provide. If there are individuals, couples or families who would like to know more about Ushering and Welcoming at Fairlawn Avenue United please feel free to join us.

From Your Social Justice Team Progressive Christian:

Progressive Christian: Christianity characterized by willingness to question tradition, acceptance of human diversity, with a strong emphasis on social justice, or care for the poor and the oppressed, and environmental stewardship of the Earth. Progressive Christians have a deep belief in the centrality of the instruction to "love one another" (John 15:17) within the teachings of Jesus Christ. This leads to a focus on compassion, promoting justice and mercy, tolerance, and working towards solving the societal problems of poverty, discrimination, and environmental issues.  sourcehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_Christianity
